Echinacea purpurea. Perennial.
Echinacea is a hardy American native plant. Plains Indians used the roots, leaves, and seeds for medicinal purposes. Tall flowering stems grow up to 4′ in late spring, each with a lively purple blossom. Bronze-colored centers make interesting winter decoration if left on the plant. Attracts pollinators.
