This giant fennel features large, compact, heavy hearts and thick, tender white sheaves. Fennel has a clean refreshing flavor similar to anise. The plant has lovely feathery leaves and large seed heads. The entire plant is useful. Seeds are used to flavor meats, fruits, and baked goods; leaves are used fresh as a garnish in salads; stems are used like celery in soups and salads. Will reseed prolifically. Attracts swallowtail butterflies.
